A class exchange was held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Media Center at OCU. Participants included third-year students from Sugita Seminar of the Faculty of Economics, led by Associate Professor Naho Sugita, and thirty-eight students from the Osaka Business Frontier Senior High School. This year’s theme was Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs).

　The program started with self-introductions of all the participants. This was followed by an introduction of the Sugita seminar, a progress report of the research related to SDGs and collaborative activities with companies. All the fascinating moments of the seminar and the student activities were captured in photographs.

　As the seminar progressed, everyone divided into groups of 5 -7, one or two seminar students and four or five high school students, and exchanged opinions on social issues related to the SDGs. As a preliminary study, the high school students selected topics of interest such as food loss reduction, problems with plastic waste, gender, etc. Each group was tasked with summarizing the situation and its related problems. After suggesting some solutions to companies, they further elaborated on what they can do to solve the problems at an individual level. During the group session, the high school students presented their findings after their preliminary studies and then the seminar students asked questions about the contents and gave advice to make the presentation more convincing. It was a good opportunity for the high school students to listen to feedback from the seminar students, take a lot of notes, have lively discussions, and think about the SDGs.

　The next exchange is scheduled to take place at the Osaka Business Frontier Senior High School on Thursday, January 20, 2022. There, we might see the presentations of each group further brushed up based on this exchange.
